Believe or not the midterm elections are just 20 months away. Twenty months to convince American people that the Denocrats are the party of the people.
There’s only one way to do that. Legislate for the people. Biden and the Congress must be willing to govern in the face of GOP resistance. It’s time to role back the tax cuts for the super wealthy and big corporations. During the last few years we have witnessed the biggest wealth transfer in the history of this country. Just imagine what we could have accomplished if those same dollars had been used wisely rather than putting them into pockets that didn’t need them. We have an unemployment problem right now. I can guarantee you that had we invested in a national infrastructure project rather than in a trillion dollar tax cut we would be in a different space.
I understand Bidens desire for non partisan cooperation. I also understand that the folks on the other side of the isle have no intention of cooperating as evidenced by their vote on the stimulus bill. Not one GOP vote. The priority must be to move a people’s agenda. President Biden must work with the Democrats to introduce a national infrastructure bill by June. That bill will be foundational in getting traction in getting all Americans on the same page.
Once Garland Merrick is confirm the justice department must root out those in and out of the government committed to tearing the peoples government down. We can have no sacred cows.
There must be an acceptance of the fact that we can not have Unity until everyone is prepared to respect the lawfully elected government of the nation. We have important work to do. Infrastructure investment can and will reignite the economic engine of the nation.
