Well do you still think that the people in Washington DC work for you? They don’t, they work for the PAC’s and people who pour money into their campaigns. When you allow campaign finance to be dominated and dictated by big donors Democracy dies a slow 🐌 and painful death.
Joe Manchin and Kristen Sinema are not interested in the welfare of the people. They’re interested in staying in office. Joe Biden is no FDR. He assumed that he could finesee the infrastructure bills through the legislature because it was the right thing to do. The trolls in DC don’t care about doing the right thing. They care about what their big donors want. Plain and simple this is about money. Who has it and who gets to keep it.
People should pause and think about who and why they shepherded the massive tax cuts through the legislative process. The people who benefited from those tax cuts have no interest in seeing them disappear. Given a choice between more money 💰 in their pocket or improved national infrastructure they’re going to take the money every time. They don’t care about jobs being created for millions of Americans. In fact that forces them to pay competitive wages. Heaven forbid that the working class actually earn a real living wage.
They count on the public being easily distracted. They are well trained in the magicians trick. They get you to look somewhere else while they do their magic.
Joe Biden had good intentions, he just failed to recognize that things had changed. His time in the Senate and in politics was a liability rather than advantage. He wants to play the game with rules that no longer apply. Reaching across the isle is a Democratic fantasy that just doesn’t work when the other side isn’t playing for consensus. Their goal is all or nothing and they’re willing to bet everything. No one is fighting for you.
