If you read my commentaries you know that I end them all the same way. I entreat you to “Think” and to see things with “Eyes Wide 👀 Open”.
People are being bombarded with false information regarding the proposed infrastructure bill. Their being told that their retirement will be negatively impacted. Their being told that their taxes will increase. Their being told that the proposal is too expensive and will adversely impact the economy. None of that is true. Why would they tell you those things if they aren’t true? Think about it. The same people pushing this narrative are the same people refusing to address the debt ceiling. If they persist in refusing to address the debt ceiling they could force the US economy into free fall. It won’t just impact the US, it will have a global impact on financial markets. Eyes Wide Open their motivation for this is purely political. Their goal is to lay failed policy at the feet of the Democrats leading up to the 2022 mid-term elections.
The truth of the matter is that the infrastructure proposal lifts up all Americans. It creates millions of new tax paying jobs. It’s real impact on the national budget is negligible. Amortizing the cost over ten years means that the actual budget impact is about 3%. The impact on quality of life issues is immeasurable.
You have to wonder why elected officials would refuse to act on the debt ceiling. Their counting on citizens to be confused and not do their homework. The debt ceiling is about paying for expenditures already made. Not future expenditures like infrastructure. Think.
These people don’t want a Democracy and they could care less about the Constitution. They want just one thing, complete and absolute power. A failure to Think and keep our Eyes Wide 👀 Open will mean the end of the grand experiment that we call democracy.
