Everyday that I live on this earth I learn something. Some of the lessons are priceless and others not so much.
Yesterday someone took exception to one of my commentaries and called me a con man. I’m a thinker so I had to ponder what had brought them to that conclusion. I write my commentaries to get the readers to think. You don’t have to agree with them nor do you have to like them. I just want you to Think when you read them.
I don’t get paid to write them nor do I solicit anything in return from the readers. My understanding of grifters and con men is that they always want something for their efforts. I’m not a con man or a grifter but if wanting you to Think makes me one so be it.
Humans are sentient beings, however we have become lazy and comfortable with the idea of letting someone else do the thinking for us. That doesn’t work and it dulls the senses and makes us complacent. We were never meant to be complacent. We were endowed with a natural curiosity. That curiosity is what makes it possible for us to rise above are more base instincts.
The person who called me a con man was is not comfortable with my attempt to invigorate my fellow man with curiosity because it conflicts with his norms. So here’s the thing, that’s his problem not mine.
THINK!!
EYES WIDE OPEN!!!
WELL SAID Mr. Cobbs!
