With a modicum of luck in about 52 days this nightmare should be over. I say should be because it won’t be. In some respects it will only just be beginning. Trump and his family represent an a real threat to national security.
Jared and Ivanka Trump were both unable to gain security clearances through normal channels. At Trumps whim they were granted top secret clearances to some of the nations most sensitive information. Jared Kushner is off on a mission to the Middle East at the twilight of the Trump administration. The important question that should be asked is WHY?? Is Kushner representing the interest of the US or those of the Trump Klan??
I’m wondering if Americans really understand the danger that Trumps finances represent to national security. Trump entered office claiming to have a net worth hovering in the range of 10 billion dollars. There was nothing to support this valuation beyond Trumps word which should have been a big red flag. Trump refused to put his assets into a blind trust as Presidents have traditionally done, that should have been another red flag. Throughout his Presidency Trump as steered government business to his own properties. Under Trump the Presidential retreat at camp David as been woefully underused, Trump preferring his own properties at tax payer expense.
Before the election Trump acknowledged that he had at least 441,000,000 million in near term liabilities. The truth however is more more dire. Trump in fact as near term liabilities of close to 1 billion dollars. His tangible assets are estimated to be worth approximately 3 billion dollars. Using a traditionally debt to income ratio model would make Teump a poor credit risk. What’s even more concerning is that Trumps principle investments Don appear to be generating enough income to service outstanding debt.
You may bale asking why any of this is relevant. The answer is simple. When Trump leaves office on Jan 20th he will be hard pressed to meet his debt load. He will possibly be susceptible to coercion by foreign entities because of his shaky finances. This should be sending off four alarm signals to the US intelligence agencies. If Trump were any other politico his security clearance would not exist. The courtesy extended to former Presidents of access to intelligence post Presidency should immediately be curtailed with Trump. He poses a dangerous threat to the present and future security of US sovereignty.
President elect Biden is going to have a herculean task ahead of him in shepparding in reforms and laws that protect the nation in the future. The bottimline is that intelligence access for Trump comes to a full stop at 12:01 pm on Jan 20th, 2021
