The master magicians trick is being perpetrated on the American people. The trick is elegantly simple but it works. The object is to get you to look in a different direction from where the action is really happening. Trump is throwing multiple diversions at us at the same time to keep the people from understanding that there is a concerted plot to steal the election. Our system has always been vulnerable to the machanations of bad actors. What has saved us up until now as been a measure of personal integrity of those we elect.
Personal integrity as flown out the window leaving America vulnerable to the rise of an authoritarian government. 41 days from now people may find themselves waking up to a coup in process. Trump has never been motivated by integrity. He is like a virus whose sole purpose for existence is replication and survival. The only thing that matters to him is winning. He is not constricted by a belief in right and wrong. For him whatever allows him to prevail is right.
The signs have always been there but Americans and our Congress have been unwilling to challenge his abhorrent behavior. Time and time again he has been allowed to flaunt the safeguards of the system. The Mueller investigation was compromised by people unwilling to risk their personal security to protect our system.
The loss of life associated with the COVID-19 pandemic itself should have been enough. Two hundred thousand people died because of Donald Trump being more concern with political expediency than the welfare of Americans. He knew how serious the virus was and he lied repeatedly to the American people because his personal narrative was more important than doing his job.
Yesterday he told Americans in unequivocal terms that he would not commit to a peaceful transfer of power. He went on to say that all that needed to be done was to get rid of the ballots and no one would have to worry about transferring power. There would simply be a continuation of his (rule) administration.
People still want to believe in the idea of a free and fair election. Converseky Donald Trump has no intentions for this election to be free and fair. While Americans are waiting to have their votes counted Donald Trump has embarked on an organized conspiracy to circumvent the will of the people.
For those of you wondering how he does this understand that the state legislative bodies have the ability to direct the out come of the voting process. Under normal circumstances the electoral college electors are determined by the popular vote. Its been that way for the last 100 years. The states however are not bound to follow that process. The authority rest in the legislative bodies. The legislative bodies could decide to ignore the popular vote and selector electors friendly to the current administration.
The nightmare is real and the system is vulnerable. Not counting every single vote facilitates a slide into authoritarian rule. This is not hyperbole. This is where we are. The question before us is will we keep our Republic or will we allow Trump and his sycophants to destroy this fragile Democracy?
