The Fight Goes On

I wish the fight was over but it’s not. I wish that this attempt at a coup was finished but it’s not. We still have work to do. Yesterday while families who could not be together huddled around screens across the country to have zoom calls in place of face to face meetings. At the same time #BunkerBitchakaDJT was once again repeating the mantra that the election was stolen from him. There’s a reason we need to remain vigilant. In his rant yesterday #BunkerBitchakaDJT signaled that his target for continuing his fight is the electoral college which meets on December 14th to do its job. He fully intends to try to throw a monkey wrench into that process. If we know anything we now know that our system is not bullet proof. This won’t be settled until Biden is actually inaugurated on Jan 20th. The coup attempt goes on.

At 6:20 this morning a friend of mine, Jaymes Wesley sent me a video entitled White America. I wish that I could have attached it to this posting but I couldn’t. It’s available on Facebook and I hope if you read this you will search for it and view it. Like anything else there will be things that you can agree with and other things that you may take exception to. The video is a little over eleven minutes long so you have to be willing to absorb it with an open mind.

From my perspective it tells you what 🇺🇸 Americas real problem is. Now if you’re white it may hurt your feelings or lead you to reject its premise out of hand. In fact you may need to view it multiple times to fully process the message. I know after watching it I continued to lay in bed for over an hour just letting it ruminate in my head. The truths of it were jarring. It was all so simple yet nuanced in its synthesis of what is happening in our country.

America’s problem is a White People problem. The imagined grievances are White People grievances. Indigenous people can’t fix these grievances. ⚫ Black, brown, and yellow people can’t fix these grievances. Only the people who have them can correct them by recognizing that they cannot take this country back to Plymouth Rock. The country can only survive as an inclusive nation that embraces and respects all people equally.

White People you have work to do. Were willing to help you however we can’t do it for you. The work requires a shift in attitude. It requires evolving as all living organisms must do to survive. We’re rooting for you because we’re in this together. There won’t be a red and blue America. There won’t be two Americas, one white and the other everyone else. There can only be one 🇺🇸 Americas and you have to be willing to do the work.
