Today every American got the opportunity to witness irony first hand. The same Republicans who voted to make Juneteenth a federal holiday today showed you how they really feel.
Not ONE of the fifty Republicans voted to bring the question of voting rights to the Senate floor. Not one was willing to break ranks and do the right thing. The vote for Juneteenth was suppose to be a deflection for what they were prepared to do today. As the saying goes “When people show you who they are believe them”.
Piece by piece these people fully intend to roll back the hands of time. First they come for your voting rights. Resistance is minimal. Next they define the next target. It could be another idea or a group of people. It will not stop of its own accord. Tyranny feeds on the complacency of the people.
It will get worse and it will happen quickly. People foolishly believe that Democracy will overcome this. They ignore what is happening right in front of their eyes.
Today I sent in my passport renewal paperwork in the event that I need to make a quick departure. The system no longer works.
