Since the 1960’s there as been a slow but steady deterioration to the governments commitment to pre k -12 public education. Each and every year politicians are concede the delivery of basic education to for profit charter schools.
These events have contributed significantly to the dumbing down of America. According to the Pew Research Center the average American reads 12 or less books a year. As a people our primary source of information is broadcast media, the internet and social media outlets. When people use broadcast media they tend to use the sources that provide an echo chamber for beliefs they already hold. Discerning what is real and what is not on the internet is a herculean task for the ignorant and uninformed.
We have created the perfect storm. Millions of ignorant people looking for someone other than themselves to blame for missing out on the American dream. Never mind that the dream was never meant for them. Never mind that the people really responsible for their plight are hiding in plain sight. We have created a nation on a freight train to third world status. The picture is bleak and not getting better.
Politically we are watching a huge segment of our population slide into fascism at an alarming rate. We have 75,000,000 million people who think that a third rate grifter, with an extensive history of bankruptcy, conning poor people out of their money, racism, and a host of other repulsive behaviors is their savior. The nation is being torn apart because of willful ignorance and white entitlement. They have no desire to unit and be better. Their only goal is to dominate and control.
I believe that the state of public education is not an accident. Ignorant uninformed people are the easiest to control. The reason they didn’t want slaves to know how to read is that knowledge makes you question the status quo. The powers that be want the people uninformed and economically stressed. Under those conditions they pose no threat to the true ruling class.
We are in real trouble. Send out the SOS.
