I needed quiet. I’ve spent the last 5 hours secluded in my den with the lights turned off. I’ve tried to stop my mind from churning over today’s events without success. Before I came into my den I read hundreds of comments about the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict. Many supported the outcome. Many did not. My fervent prayer is those that did not support this travesty have long memories. Remember what every black parent must teach every black child from the moment they come into the world. Justice is neither fair or equal. Never was and will not be until American can acknowledge her ugly past and stop defaulting to describing people based on a social construct of race.

Two human beings are dead because of the perception that they took to the streets to support three little words. Black Lives Matter, how could anyone be threatened enough by three words to take to the streets to hunt other human beings. These human beings that lost their lives and were maimed by Kyle Rittenhouses actions have been vilified for their past bad acts while Rittenhouse is celebrated by every clown who affiliates himself with the alt-right. How very sad we are as a nation.

While sitting here thinking about this mess that we find ourselves in and pondering what will come next I’ve made a decision. I will no longer accept being referred to as a person of color. If someone is uncomfortable with accepting me as a human being the only social construct of race that I find acceptable is black man. I am a Blackman living under siege everyday of my life. I am Dredd Scott in 2021. I know what this country thinks of me. There is no confusion.

Within the next few days we will be awaiting a decision in the Arbery murder trial. I don’t want to think what an innocent verdict in that trial could ignite. Pandora’s box is open. All of the hate and evil can now feed at will.

Think!!

  1. There’s 401 years of Judicial Injustice stench over this Country, very rarely has true Justice been served in our behalf. As Neely Fuller says “We ADOS are Prisoners and don’t even know it.”
