You would think that everyone in this country would recognize that we are lagging behind the rest of the developed nations on infrastructure. You would think that they would understand that you can’t compete in a global environment with outdated crumbling infrastructure. You would think that common sense would prevail and that Washington would move expediently to get the bill passed. You would think.
Unfortunately the same people who were Gung ho to put trillions of taxpayer dollars into big corporations and the super rich don’t want to spend your money on infrastructure.
There isn’t much that they aren’t willing to resort to to stop the bill from becoming law. I’ve lived a long time and I’ve seen this coming for a while. It turns out that common sense isn’t all that common. Today I saw a political spot paid for by “Common Sense Leadership Fund”. The spot was an attack on the 3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure initiative. In the spot they claimed that the bill was designed to steal your tax money 💰. Not only is that funny, it’s another big fat lie perpetrated by a conservative ring wing that doesn’t give a tinkers dam about the average American.
The piece is a blatant lie designed to appeal to the ignorant and ill informed. Chances are if you haven’t already seen it you will soon. It’s specifically targeting Democrats who will be running for reelection in the 2022 mid-terms. When you see the spot listen to it carefully so that you can disect it without emotion. Far too many people will see that thirty second spot and take it for the gospel. We have to get out in front of this and stop it in its tracks. You can help by sharing this with the people you know.
