One of the things I’ve noted over the last five days is the number of Americans critical of the Afghanistan people for not fighting the Taliban. The number of critics continues to grow daily.
I wonder how many of these same people truly understand how precarious our countries own security is. Since last year we have had our own active insurgency with active support from sitting members of our legislative branch and our Executive branch. All of these people took an oath to defend the Constitution and have actively violated that oath.
Where are all of our fighters for liberty? I don’t see them and I don’t see any action to curtail the insurgency. Members of the Federal judiciary have expressed their own concern for the charging decisions coming out of the Justice department for those involved in the January 5th assault on the capital. They recognize that plea agreements that represent nothing more than a slap on the wrist will have zero to little deterrent effect on the next group of insurgents.
People who live in glass houses should be very careful about throwing stones. The US is on the precipice of becoming the next failed Democratic Republic. Our leaders are pretending that the threat is over and that they have this under control. How can that be when the hen house is full of ravenous foxes? What’s even worse is that the fox’s in our hen house grow bolder everyday. They don’t try to hide because they have nothing to fear. Jim Jordan, Mo Brooks, Kevin McCarthy, and John Kennedy just to name a few are actively undermining the duly elected government with impunity. In a normal society the Subpoenas would be flying. Where are they? The powers that be fiddle while the country descends into a slow burn.
If you’re one of those people critical of the capitulation of the Afghanistan people take a close look at home. Our insurgents are laughing at our incompetence in dealing with them. I fear that this is going to devolve into an every man for himself situation.
