Nine days from now we will have an election. If we were living in a reasonable society the election would put an end to the madness. When Joe Biden wins the norms that were always a given will not apply in Trump land.
Under the best of circumstances I doubt that Trump and his administration will cooperate in a smooth transition in government. Under normal circumstances between election day and inaugural day the new administration is given access to the offices of government to insure a smooth transition. Under Trump all bets are off. He’s already fired the fire preemptive strike. The new executive order calling for redesegnation of executive civil service workers is a scorched earth measure. He wants to gut career civil service ranks removing decades of institutional knowledge crippling the next administration.
When Trump loses he intends to burn the country down around him. He’s going to more dangerous than he’s ever been. The Proud Boys, Atom Waffen, and other alt-right hate groups are going to take the last four years of the pump being primed and run with it. The safe guards we assume will be there have been compromised. The proof is in the fact that police departments have taken the position that they will not enforce regulations banning weapons at or near polling places. You have members of the law enforcement community openly condoning unlawful behavior. What happens to society when the populace can not depend on law enforcement to uphold their oaths.
November the third is not the end of this, it’s the beginning. Removing this cancer eating away at the soul of the nation is going to be a herculean effort. I’m prepared, are you???
