Like so many other people my heart breaks for Wynter. I’ve seen so many comments today regarding the senseless death of this child.

We have trauma running rampant in our community yet we can not come together to secure our community. We have the power but lack the will. We are reactive rather than proactive

We will weep and make pronouncements that this can never happen again and it will happen again. We are a divided people and everyone knows it. It’s like walking around with a bullseye 🎯 on your back 24 hours a day seven days a week.

We can not protect Wynter or any of our children without embracing once again the belief that it takes a village. Whether it is one of the sad Caucasians who hate us because of our melanation or one of our own gone astray our security can only happen through unity. We must find the ability to rid ourselves of centuries of brainwashing. We must become our brothers keeper.

We will never be able to make sense of Wynters death over adult issues. We can however build more cohesiveness in our village. We owe it to Wynter to change the way we deal with one another.

  1. Thank you! We as a people don’t value one another! It’s disgusting enough that it’s open season on people of color by white kkk but we are murdering our own. Our people are lacking morals, integrity, and a sense of worth. There was a time when the elders in the neighborhood watch out for and over children, that time has passed! I’m losing faith!!!!9
