I have to admit it. The Iranians were smarter than I was. After the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani I just knew that it was only a matter of time before they took their vengeance. I got it wrong. They were better at intelligence gathering and analysis than I was.
They had paid close attention to the way the US had dismantled decayeds of relationships. They watched how the narcissism and ego of a small man allowed him to be systematically manipulated by Kim Jong-un. They just paid attention. They watched while the narcissistic ego maniac claimed to be winning a trade war with China close emerging US markets while opening them to other global players.
They watched as #BunkerBitchakaDJT cowered to Putin at every turn and struck out at our most important allies. They figured out that they didn’t need to launch a terrorist operation. They didn’t need to bring down an international jet. They didn’t have to respond to any US provocation. All they had to do was wait. Americas downfall would come from within and the very top.
Today the narcissistic egomaniac broke quarantine. He said screw all of the little people working in the Whitehouse. It’s always all about him. The Iranians figured it out and I would venture to guess that everyone with a grievance against the US as figured it out.
Our destruction is going to come from within. The root causes of that destruction. Are our unwillingness to change. A perverse obsession with greed and a need to cling to an obtuse racial construct that prevents us from embracing every American with equal enthusiasm.
The Iranians and all of our other foes figured it out. All they had to do was wait. Our own hubris would be our destruction.
Tonight we are waiting for a debate to tell us what we already know. If we don’t stop this now our demise is an absolute certainty.
