The federal government is nothing but a carcass and its time to bury it. On January 20th I had really hoped that we had pulled back from the brink. Alas it appears that my hope was all in vain.
We pay 535 people a salary of at least $174,000 a year to do the will of the people. That’s over $93,000,000. What are we getting for our money 💰? If we expect meaningful legislation the answer is a big fat zero. At least 70% of the population wants an infrastructure bill. While the people want it the clown core in Washington DC plays games.
The irony is that the same people who continue to call infrastructure too expensive are the same people who vote to increase military spending year after year. Proposed infrastructure spending that people are balking about is 3.5 trillion dollars over 10 years. That’s 350,000,000 billion a year equally amortized over 10 years. To put it in perspective that amounts to less than half of what we will spend on defense spending at current rates over the next ten years. The Defense spending PAC’s are getting their monies worth.
Voting rights protection is apparently something that nobody cares about in Washington. I’m sure that John Lewis is doing flip flops in his grave.
Meanwhile the January 6th commission is making a show of issuing Subpoenas. Anyone who avoids or ignores a duly authorized Congressional Subpoena should be immediately arrested. Without arrest those Subpoenas mean exactly nothing.
This thing is over and the carcass stinks to the high heavens. Now is the time for millions of citizens to March on Washington DC screaming I’m mad as he’ll and I’m not going to take it anymore.
