I’m not blind, I can see all around. I understand that it’s not what you say but what you do. Most of us know that February is black history month. We’re just three days into it and the hand ✍ writing is on the wall.
From bomb threats at historical HBCU’s to the relelease of Laquan McDonald’s murderer. If you don’t remember Laquan McDonald and the circumstances of his death allow me to refresh your memory. In 2014 16 year old Laquan McDonald was shot 16 times by Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke. Van Dyke was the only officer on the scene who fired his service weapon. I suppose he was afraid of the super human capabilities of a 17 year old black kid walking away from him. He was so traumatized by Laquans super human capabilities that he continued firing into his lifeless body even after he was on the ground.
It took a year for charges to actually be brought against officer McDonald. All of the officers at the scene had initially given false statements regarding what had occurred.
Van Dyke was charged with 17 counts. 16 for aggravated battery, one count for each of the 16 shots and 1 count for MURDER. Van Dyke was found guilty but a de idiot was made not to sentence him for the 16 counts of aggravated assault. For the second degree murder conviction he was sentenced to 81 months or 6 years and 9 months for second degree murder.
On the third day of Black History Month it was announced that Jason Van Dyke who fired 16 shots into the body of a 17 year old black child was being released early for good behavior.
You and I know that this country doesn’t care about black history. It’s a pacification sham just like the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution. Pure sham. The 13th and 14 amendments were suppose to fix the Dredd Scott decision. Did they?
It’s black history month. The 15th amendment to the Constitution says “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude”. In 2022 the legislative branch of our federal government refuses to pass viable voter protection legislation. I refuse to be pacified by words and a black history month while this country refuses to acknowledge the truth. I’m not blind, I can see.
