The US Supreme Court brought an end to the moratorium on tenant evictions. We all knew that at some point the moratorium would have to end. I get that.

What I don’t get is why less than 12% of the 46.5 billion allocated for tenant assistance as actually found its way into the hands of property owners. How can the nation have manged getting money into the hands of big business so efficiently while bumbling the process of assistance for the nation’s most needy.

If you were subject to cynicism you might be inclined to believe that the negligence was intentional. We mange to provide over 3 million dollars of aid per day to Isreal but for some bizarre reason we can’t figure out how to handle something as simple as renter assistance during a pandemic. Is that what American exceptionalism looks like??
