Adapt Or Perish!!

Adaptability is critical to survival. The Republican party as adapted to a changing political landscape. They understand that numbers will become increasingly challenging for them. They morphed from having been the party of Lincoln to being the party of aggrieved white men in America. It worked beautifully for them until the same demographic shift impacting Europe found its way to US shores.

That Demographic shift requires a whole new approach to retaining political power. They’ve had to adapt a zero sum game. It’s now all or nothing if the party is to survive. So once again they are adapting. The new adaptation requires that they trade patriotism and the Constitution for the ability to hold on to power. The voter suppression legislation we see flooding the nation is part of their strategy for making sure that the numbers don’t mean anything going forward. If they’re successful the 2020 election will have been the last of our real voter determined elections. The Republicans adapt.

At this very moment what may possibly be the most important legislation around voter rights sits stagnant in Washington. The Republicans know the Democrats well. They understand our insane need to appear to be above the fray. They have calculated that the Democratic members of the Senate don’t have the courage to carve out a filibuster exception for the voting rights legislation. They are playing a delay game while the Democrats fiddle 🎻 while the country literally burns down around us.

The Democrats either can’t or won’t adapt. While they wait patiently for the Republicans house to burn down they are being boxed out. Democracies fail when people take them for granted. When people stop doing the blocking and tackling the crumble into a million pieces. Time is short and we are fast approaching the point of no return.

The echo chamber that had DJT returning to the Presidency in August was a false flag. It was designed to divert attention from what was really going on and to increase the tension and discontent. The delay of game tactics of the Republican party have been executed brilliantly. Can the Democrats adapt to a game where people no longer value non partisanship before its too late. The clock is ticking.
