So 13 days before the most important election in our history here we are. First we were told that we would likely only lose 75,000 American souls. Then the number became 125,000. We shot past that to 175,000 with no end in sight and today we sit at 221,000 souls, and 221,000 families with no foreseeable end in sight. In seven months we have lost over 4 times what we lost in 15 years in Vietnam. Lyndon Johnson at least had the grace to not run for reelection. We aren’t that lucky. The mad narcissist will not go away of his own accord.
13 days before our most important election and we are seeing a no holds barred attack on our electoral process. So much for a free and fair election.
Look around people, the coup has already happened and far too many of us slept through it. We were so confident that the safeguards of our Constitutional Republic would be enough to protect us. We forgot that a system is only as good as the moral and ethical compass of the people. Free and fair flew out the window. Now we will see what the people will do when they are faced with treachery from the very top.
Next Tuesday is sure to be unlike any other Tuesday we have ever know. We may see armed men and women at our polling stations under the premise of being poll watchers. Just imagine the sight of armed people at or near our polls, there is bound to be a chill effect.
Today I went to get a hair cut. While I was sitting in the chair the woman who cuts my hair said that she was probably going to have to close her shop the week of the election. She said that her staff was afraid it wasn’t going to be safe to travel to and from work because of possible unrest in the streets. People are beginning to realize that #BunkerBitchakaDJT is prepared to foment all manner of confusion and unrest to maintain the reigns of power.
Herd immunity is just another way of telling the people that he can’t fix the problem of COVID-19, the job is too big for him. We have reached the limits of the system. The system always needed people of good faith.
We’re not going to turn the economy around in the near future. We’re going to enter a period of austerity. Our normal is going to change and we must be adaptable enough to embrace the change and whether the storm. It will take courage to come through the storm. Not all of us will make the passage. 13 days and this is where we are.
